Obituaries For Monday, March 29

David Delk, Age 86 Of Monterey, Passed Away On Monday, March 29 At His Home. Funeral Arrangements Are Incomplete.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jane Hudgens Griffin, age 77 of Sparta, will be conducted 1:00pm Tuesday, March 30 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Mrs. Griffin passed away on Sunday March 28 at her residence. In addition to owning White County Credit Bureau for many years, Jane was also a tax preparer for Farm Bureau for 23 years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved doing art projects with her grandchildren. Jane was a member of First Baptist Church of Sparta where she enjoyed playing piano and handbells. She loved flowers and often traveled around in the country to enjoy the pretty scenery. Surviving family members include her husband of 59 years, Dennis Griffin of Sparta; and son, David Griffin of Sparta. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00am until time of the service at Hunter Funeral Home.

Graveside Services for Kim Robinson, 48 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, March 30 at 1:00 pm from the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with her Friends and Family officiating. Mrs. Robinson passed away on Saturday, March 27 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Kim was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mama, and friend. She was a dedicated craftsman and she especially enjoyed making snowmen and pumpkins out of muslin and paint. She loved listening to music, and really enjoyed Garth Brooks, Prince, and Kid Rock. She loved her animals, chickens, turtles, and a horse named Prodigy. She always had a smile on her face, was cheerful even with the trials that she was going through. Kim was loved by all that knew her and she will be greatly missed. Kim is survived by Husband, Robert Robinson; two Daughters, Lera Robinson, and Clara Robinson; her Mother, Evelyn D Bray and partner James Davis “Pa James. Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, March 30 from 11:00 am until time of service at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.

A graveside service and interment for Mrs. Asylee Eugene Hulme, age 92 of Cookeville and formerly of Jackson, will be held Thursday, April 1 at 10:30 a.m. at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Memphis. Rev. Don Davidson will officiate. Mrs. Hulme died Thursday March 25 at Morningside of Cookeville. She was born October 28, 1928 in Madison County, TN to the late William Chester Baker and Eunice Goodrich Baker. She attended Asbury College in Wilmore, Ky where she met her late husband, U.S. Army Colonel and Methodist church minister, John Hulme. Asylee was a devoted and supportive minister’s and military chaplain’s wife. She served alongside side her husband in many churches as they lived in many states and countries. She was a gracious host who entertained many dignitaries and prime ministers with her kindness and culinary skills. She was a pianist who enhanced her husband’s services in many of their churches. She was hospitable to all. She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Hull of Mineral Hills, TX. Memorial contributions are suggested to be made to Jackson (TN) First United Methodist Church, 200 S. Church St, Jackson, TN 38301.

Graveside services for Genie Mae Hammock Scott, age 73 of Gainesboro, will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 1:30 pm at Pharris Cemetery. She was born March 23, 1938 in Jackson County, TN and she passed way on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at her residence at the age of 73. She was the daughter of Elmer Esters Hammock and Stella Mae Stafford Rhoten. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She was married to Charles Ward Scott who passed away on December 1, 2019. Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Rivera of Ontario, CA, and Davenna J. Weathers of Trona, CA. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Memorial Services for Dalmas Clark Bussell, 60 of Sparta, will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 6 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Justin McCulley officiating. He was born Friday, December 9, 1960 in Sparta. He was the son of the late Melvin and Joan Brasel Bussell. He loved to fish and was a gun enthusiast. Survivors include his Wife, Jeanne Masters Bussell of Sparta; daughter, Megan McGuire (Shawn) of Sparta; and son, Joshua Austin of Sparta. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday from 5:00 PM until time of the service at the funeral home.

Memorial services for Deborah Ann Scott, 64 of the Whites Bend community of Jackson County, will be held on Saturday, April 10 at 1 P.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Miss Scott passed away on Monday, March 22 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born May 15, 1956, in Jackson County. She was a factory worker at Crotty, and a member of the Assembly of God. Survivors include her daughter, Amy (Erik) Pryor Baxter of Mt. Juliet. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 10 from 11 A.M. until time of services.

A celebration of life for James Michael “Bobo” Morgan, age 64 Of Cookeville, scheduled for Sunday, April 18th at Hidden Valley Golf & Country Club from 2pm-4pm. Mr. Morgan passed away on March 24th at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Michael was the General Manager of Hidden Valley Golf and Country Club for many years. He was also known as “Mr. White Plains” for the years he spent there. He was happiest on a beach, a golf course or watching the Florida Gators. He once asked the doctors if they were having trouble finding blood that was orange and blue. He was known for his sense of humor, funny one-liners and the stories he liked to tell over and over again. He was a big-hearted guy who touched many people’s lives with his kindness and generosity. He loved his family and his dogs and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Cristy; Stepson, Josh McDaniel; and his daughters, Kelli (Charles) Norris and Amanda Borden.
