T-DOT Repaving 22 Miles In Putnam, White Co.

About 22 miles of state routes along the Putnam and White County line will be resurfaced this summer.

T-DOT Community Relations Officer Jennifer Flynn said the first contract focuses on Highway 111.

“It is a slightly over two mile section of State Route 111 that will be resurfaced from the White County line to north of State Route 136,” Flynn said. “Also included in this project is a section of State Route 111 from south of Overpass Road to south of the Putnam County line.”

The lowest bid for this project came in at about a million dollars by American Pavements Inc. Flynn said the second contract involves repaving about 15 miles of Burgess Falls Road and Old Kentucky Road.

“One of them in Putnam County is State Route 135 from the White County line to west of Grider Road including bridge repair, and that is 7.38 miles,” Flynn said. “The second section in this contract is State Route 136 from near State Route 135 to State Route 111 and that is 4.14 miles. And the third section is in White County. It is State Route 135 from State Route 136 to the Putnam County line. It is 3.32 miles.”

Rogers Group was the lowest bidder for this contract at about $1.2 million. Flynn said each bid must still be reviewed by T-DOT before officially being awarded.

Each project must be completed by September 30th.
