Day use passes for Center Hill Lake recreation areas are resuming Monday after being suspended last year.
Park Ranger Ashley Webster said all facilities will be fully opened for the 2021 season.
“You got boating and swimming opportunities and fishing,” Webster said. “Now if you do visit some of our developed recreation areas, we have picnic sites. We have developed swim beaches with sand.”
Webster said the decision to reopen was passed down from the headquarters of the Army Corps of Engineers. Webster said the five dollar pass to participate can be purchased at the location.
“Headquarters originally were the ones who made the decision to limit certain activities and amenities as well as waive the fee last year which was 2020,” Webster said. “And then, headquarters were once again were the management department who said we need to resume this fee.”
Webster said implementation to resume fees first cam in October, but just now reached the local level. The campgrounds are set to reopen April 15th.
