Mrs. Alma Jean Hicks, Age 86 Of Spring Creek Community Of Overton County, Passed Away On Tuesday, March 9 At Her Home. Arrangements Are Incomplete.

Marie Elaine Boyce, 71 of Cookeville, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, March 6 at her home surrounded by family. Marie was a loving daughter, sister, mother, nanny, grandma, and friend. She was of the Baptist faith, she loved to travel, go hiking, and get out in nature. Marie was loved by all that knew her and she will be greatly missed. She is survived by daughter, Michelle Greenwalt. Marie chose cremation, the family followed her wishes, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Funeral services for Ronnie Dunn, 73 of the Rock Castle community of DeKalb County, will be held on Wednesday, March 10 at 11 A.M. at the Ozion Free Will Baptist Church in Baxter. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery on Cookeville Boat Dock Road. Mr. Dunn passed away on Sunday, March 7 at his residence. He was born February 22, 1948, in Baxter, to the late Isaac Louis Dunn and Mary Lou Dunn. On February 22, 1968, he was married to Freda Sue Allen Dunn, who survives. He was a business owner, farmer, builder, and craftsman. He also attended the Dodson Branch Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Freda Sue Allen Dunn; Son, Ronnie Dunn and wife, Amber; Daughter, Angela Billings and husband, Jackie. The family will receive friends at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and at the church on Wednesday from 9 A.M. until time of services.

Funeral services for Mr. Lee Roy Burks, age 83 of Sparta, will be conducted 1:00pm Wednesday, March 10 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 3:00pm in Turkey Town Cemetery in Clay County. Mr. Burks passed away Sunday, March 7 at his residence. After his service in the United States Navy, Lee Roy began a long, varied business career -ranging from a Time Keeper for Sparta Spoke Factory in the early years to a 47-year-career in Insurance. Along the way, he was an avid moonshine distributor and owned Burks Amusement Company, where he supplied arcade games, pool tables, and pinball machines all over the Upper Cumberland. Surviving family members include his daughters, Darlene Goodwin and husband Gary, Heather Hayes and husband Jerry; and his sons, Mike Burks and Kevin Burks. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Wednesday at Hunter Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mr. Jonah Jack (Jacky) Fox, age 64 of McMinnville, formerly of Jackson County, will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 in the Chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Byers Cemetery. Fox was born January 20, 1957 in Jackson County, TN and he passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro at the age of 64. He was the son of Carl Mitchell Fox, Sr. and Thelma Lucille Heady Fox. He was an maintenance technician and a member of the New Voice Worship Center in McMinnville. Survivors include his wife, Pamela Hankins Fox of McMinnville, sons, Jackie Dewayne Fox of McMinnville and James Mitchell Fox of Cookeville; step-son, Heath Lane Girod of Kingsport; step-daughter, Heather Nicole Girod of McMinnville. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 4-8 pm and Wednesday from 10 am to 1 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Larry Wayne Watts, age 64 of Sparta, will be Wednesday, March 10 at 2:00 P.M. at Thurman Funeral Home. Interment will be at Plainview Cemetery off 84 Hwy. Mr. Watts passed away Saturday, March 6 At Saint Thomas Highlands Medical Center in Sparta. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Earline Watts of Sparta; his mother, Glenda Watts of Sparta; and step children, Debbie (Marcus) Simms, Julie Williams, and Greg (Kim) Williams. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 10 at 12:00 P.M. till time of service at Thurman Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mr. Ralph Douglas Baker, age 85 of Sparta, will be conducted 1:00pm Thursday, March 11 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Clouse Cemetery. Dewey Young will officiate. Mr. Baker passed away on Monday, March 8 at Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro. He began working on cars at the age of 13 and worked as a mechanic as various shops until he opened North East Transmission in 1976. He was a car and motorcycle enthusiast. Ralph was a member of the Good Time Cruisers and proudly showed his 1956 Olds and 1948 Nash. He enjoyed playing guitar but his pride and joy was his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 65 years; Minerva Lee Baker of Sparta; and their children, Charles (Debbie) Baker and Glenda (Max) Guy all of Sparta. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Thursday at Hunter Funeral Home.

Funeral services for James Ross Tollison, age 65 of Baxter, will be Thursday March 11 at 3:00 P.M. at Thurman Funeral Home. Interment will be at Tollison Cemetery. Mr. Tollison passed away on March 5 at his residence in Baxter. He is Survived by his wife, Mary Jo Tollison; children, John Ross Tollison, Theresa (Josh) Lane, Rebecca (Justin) O’dell; step-sons, Craig Stephenson, Bill and Dan Kinnard; and mother, Margaret Tollison. Visitation will be Wednesday March 101 at 4:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. at Thurman Funeral Home.

A celebration of life service for Mr. Kevin David Bryant, age 52 of Nashville, will be held Friday, March 12 at 11:00 a.m. the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. An additional service will be held at Nashville First Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Bryant died Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. His family will receive friends Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and again Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Funeral Services for Mary Stockton, age 80 of Cookeville, will be held on Saturday, March 13 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Bro. Frank Davis will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery. Mrs. Stockton passed away on March 8 in Putnam County. She is survived by her children, Dewayne (Phillis) Stockton, Roger (Toni) Stockton, Larry Stockton, Susanne (Danny) Western and Claudia (Lonny) Mather. The family will receive friends at the Chapel of Whitson Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:00am until time of services at 2:00pm.
