Marion Crisp, Age 82, Of Crossville, Passed Away On Sunday, February 21, 2021, At The Cumberland Medical Center. Mr. Crisp Was Born On September 7, 1938, In Richmond Virginia, To The Late Charles And Bonnie Kilby Crisp. Mr. Crisp Was A Retired Factory Worker Working As A Mechanic With General Motors. He Was A United States Army Veteran. He Is Survived By His Wife Of 63 Years, Vonda Maureen Robbins Crisp Of Crossville, TN; 3 Daughters, Lenell Cheek Of Indianapolis, IN, Cynthia Yates Of Crossville, TN, Amy Crisp Of Franklin, IN; 1 Son And Daughter-In-Law, Mark And Bonnie Crisp Of Greenwood, IN. His Wishes Of Cremation Are Being Honored With Memorial Services To Be Announced At A Later Date.

Graveside services for Glen Smith, 75 of Silver Point, will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 23 at Palmer Cemetery located at 13820 Old Baxter Road Silver Point, 38582 with Bro. Morgan Wallace officiating. Mr. Smith passed away on Monday, February 15 at Woodcrest at Blakeford Nursing Home in Nashville. He was the loving husband of 52 blessed years, of Barbara Skelton Smith. Glen and Barbara were owners of the Glen Smith Certified Financial Planner for 50 years until recently selling the business. Glen coached little league baseball for over 30 years and Babe Ruth for the last 10 years. He enjoyed fishing for crappie and blue gill, but mostly anything that would bite the hook. Glen enjoyed all sports, but mainly he enjoyed being at the Vanderbilt football and basketball games. He was a 30 year ticketholder. His friends even called him the “Ole Commodore”. In addition to his wife Barbara, he is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Nicole Smith of Silver Point.

Funeral services for Brenda Sue Harp, age 69 of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday February 23 at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Danny Lane and Bro. Mike Adams will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Brenda passed away Saturday morning February 20, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born July 26, 1951 in Cookeville, TN to Gladys Cleghorn Stover of Cookeville and the late Tommy Robbins. Brenda was a homemaker who loved to read. In addition to her mother, she is survived by daughters, Karen (Roy) Spurlock of Sparta, Donnita Pearson, Vernoica (Jeremiah) Johnson, and Melissa Harp all of Cookeville; step daughters, Tammy and Donna Harp. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 – 7 p.m and again Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time. Please practice social distancing and the use of masks are appreciated.

Graveside services for Ms. Barbara Gail Jett, age 81 formerly of Sparta, will be held Tuesday, February 23 at 11 a.m. at Highland Cemetery, Sparta. Rick Thompson will officiate. Ms. Jett passed away passed away Wednesday evening, February 17 at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin. Barbara Gail was born October 26, 1939 in White County to the late C.O. Jett and Charlie Mae Jett. She was a gentle, kind, and loving aunt who cherished her family. She enjoyed going to church, reading, shopping, and enjoyed being around the farm and her animals growing up in Sparta. The family would like to express our gratitude to Lu Schultz who was her caregiver for several years. There will be no visitation prior to the service.

Funeral services for Judy K. Hammock, 75 of the Old Antioch community of Jackson County, will be held on Tuesday, February 23 at 1 P.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the Stacy Cemetery in the Old Antioch community. Mrs. Hammock passed away on Friday, February 12 at Overton County Health and Rehab. She was born March 4, 1945, in Noblesville, Indiana. She was married to the late James Milton Hammock, who passed away July 4, 2002. She was a factory worker, and a member of the New Hope Community Church. She is survived by two daughter, Melissa McAnally of Hilham, and Carol Dailey of Gainesboro. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 A.M. until time of services.

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas “Tom” Odom, age 77 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 1:00 pm in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Barry Odom will officiate. Mr. Odom died Friday morning, February 19 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a graduate of North Georgia College and earned a master’s degree from Illinois Benedictine College. Tom proudly served his country in the US Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran and was awarded The Bronze Star. His military service included tours in Okinawa and Germany. He was a longtime member of the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 402 in Chattanooga. Tom worked as a plant manager in various cities including Chicago, Hopkinsville, KY, Chattanooga and Sparta, TN at Thomas Industries. Tom is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy Stanley Odom; sons, Rich Odom of Nashville, Dave (Belinda) Odom of Cookeville; and Barry (Robin) Odom of Georgia. His family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Kenneth Ryan Wester, 33 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, February 23 beginning at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Mr. Wester passed away Monday, February 15. One of Ryan’s biggest accomplishments was being a father. He cherished his time with Deshawn and could always count on them wrestling, having movie nights and Taco Tuesdays. Ryan was always texting his mom reminders that he loved her and checking on their shows for new episodes. Survivors include his son Deshawn Wester; Mother, Lori Wester (Steven Farley); and Father, Kevin Wester. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm.

Funeral services for Susan Lynn Scarlett, 72 of Cookeville, will be Tuesday, February 23 at 2 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Mrs. Scarlett died Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born September 1, 1948 in Waverly, TN to the late William Leon and Lois Kathryn Story Sanders. She was a graduate of Waverly Central High School and a 1975 graduate of Tennessee Tech University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Susan was a member of Algood Church of Christ. She was a retired auditor with the State of Tennessee in the Labor and Work Force Development. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family, especially the grandkids. Survivors include husband of almost 52 years (Married March 15, 1969 in Waverly, TN) Jimmy Scarlett of Cookeville, daughter Shannon (Joseph) Ross of Cookeville, sons James Felix (Rachel) Scarlett of Livingston, Matthew Leon (Heather) Scarlett of Jonesboro, Arkansas. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 PM and from 12 Noon until service time at the funeral home.

Graveside service and interment for Charles J. Threet, 78 of Cookeville, will be Tuesday, February 23 at 2 PM EST at East Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson, Indiana. There will be a private family visitation at Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Mr. Threet died Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at his home. He was born June 23, 1942 in Overton County, TN to the late Charlie and Martha Southard Threet. He was a retired truck driver with General Motors Corporation. Survivors include sisters Gladys (Jimmy) Cook of Cookeville, Agnes (Ronnie) Bohannon of Monterey.

Funeral services for Dorothy Bryant of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, February 23, at 6 pm from Dyer Chapel. Ms. Bryant died Friday in McMinnville, TN. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 pm until 6 pm at the funeral home. A private graveside service and interment will be Wednesday at Cookeville City Cemetery.

A private graveside service and interment for Mrs. Patty Ann Ealey Taylor, age 83 of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2021 in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Bro. David Hill will officiate. Mrs. Taylor died Friday February 19, 2021 at NHC of Cookeville. She was born February 18, 1938 to the late Carnell and Mary Ann Burgess Cobb. Mrs. Patty worked at the former Teledyne STILLMAN in Cookeville. She was a loving and selfless person who always saw the good in others. She was a faithful member of Northeast Church of Christ for over 40 years. Mrs. Taylor is survived by son, Michael Austin Ealey and wife Margaret. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Tennessee Bible College and/or The Malcolm Hill Mission Fund. Either may be mailed to 1616 McCulley Road, Cookeville, TN 38506.

Funeral services for Dorothy Charlene Russell, age 92, will be held on Wednesday at 1:00pm from the Chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Bro. Frank Rodgers will officiate at the services and family and friends will serve as Pallbearers. Entombment will be at Crestlawn Cemetery. Dorothy Charlene Russell was born on October 11, 1928 in Putnam County TN, to the late John and Sallie Spears Hutchings. She passed away on February 18, 2021 at the Quality Heathcare Center in Lebanon TN. Her surviving family includes 1 son and daughter in-law: Garry and Lori Medlin of the Double Springs community. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00am until time of services at 1:00pm.

Interment will follow at Algood City Cemetery. Mrs. Hawkins passed away Sunday evening February 22 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services for Mr. Casey Jay Looper, age 43 of Livingston will be conducted 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 24 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Mark Neely, Bro. Eric Dillon and Skyla Looper will be officiating. Burial to follow in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Casey passed from this life on Friday, February 19 from his home in Livingston. Casey was a 1996 graduate of Livingston Academy. He loved and enjoyed being with his family. He enjoyed Thanksgiving and Christmas, watching football, his cats, going to Dale Hollow Lake and playing cards. His children were his life, and felt his greatest accomplishments were when Skyla went to Baylor School in Chattanooga and Chase going to McCallie School in Chattonooga. Casey leaves behind his wife Victoria Hogue Looper, of Livingston; son, Riley Chase Looper of Livingston; daughter, Skyla Looper of Livingston; mother, Cindy Bilbrey of Livingston; and father, Joe Looper of Rickman. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Shirley Pryor, 74 of Cookeville, will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 24,2021, at Presley Funeral Home. Interment will be in Brotherton Cemetery on The Lane Rd, Cookeville. She passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. Born Wednesday, June 19, 1946 in Quebeck, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Matthews and the late Louise Matthews. She was the loving wife of Donald “Gary” Pryor for thirty blessed years. Shirley enjoyed reading, playing games on the computer, and watching TV. She was an avid Elvis fan, collecting all sorts of Elvis memorabilia. She enjoyed listening to classic country music. She loved to talk to her sisters on the phone before their passing. Most of all, she loved the Lord, being with her family and especially, her grandkids. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 daughters Christy Jernigan of Sparta, TN, Michelle (Sam) Roepke of Ohio; 2 sons Paul (Judy) Williamson of Spencer, Donny (Katrina) Pryor of Cookeville. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Presley Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life service for Basil Wayne Putman, 73 of Cookeville will be 1 PM Thursday February 25 at Trinity Assembly in Algood. Interment will be in Smellage Cemetery in the Boma Community with military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard. Bro. Dwight Henry will officiate. Mr. Putman died Sunday, February 21 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a graduate of Hixson High School. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Tennessee Tech University. Wayne was a six year member of the National Guard. He retired from Wireless Solutions of Cookeville and had previously worked at U.S. Cellular and was a member of Trinity Assembly. Wayne enjoyed collecting turtle figurines and selling on EBAY. He was a people person, enjoying spending time with family and friends, especially the grandkids. Survivors include wife of 46 years (Married February 14, 1975) Shirley Bruce Putman of Cookeville; daughters, Kristin (Jason) Grear of Ooltewah, and Lacey (Paul) Roberts of Cookeville. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until service time at the church.

Funeral services for Patty Jo Apple Barlow, age 80 of Lebanon, formerly of Jackson County, will begin Friday at 2 pm in the Chapel with Bro. Jackie Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery. She was born May 10, 1940 in Jackson County, TN and she passed away at her residence in Lebanon on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the age of 80. She was the daughter of Homer and Daris Ragland Apple. Mrs. Barlow was retired from Summit Medical Center working in the medical records department. she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lebanon. Visitation will be on Friday, February 26, 2021 beginning at 11 am until 2 pm.

James Dukes officiating. phe assed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 in Cookeville, TN. Richard was born on May 20, 1956 in Cookeville, TN to the late Freddie and Minnie Golden. Richard loved to play music, write songs, and to perform his songs. Surviving Family include: Son, Jonathan Golden of Sparta; sister Sabra Bussell of Smithville; Brother Dewayne Marcus of Cookeville. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until time of the service at the funeral home.
