Tennessee Tech’s Annual Family Weekend survived the pandemic and Winter weather to find a new date this weekend.
New Student and Family Programs Assistant Director Courtney Brehm said this event usually happens in the Fall when freshman become homesick. However, she said a mix of in-person and virtual activities are taking place to show off the campus.
“Just to get them involved with the university community, so that’s why we chose to do it in the Spring,” Brehm said. “Of course with Tech’s football schedule in the Spring as well. So, that’s kind of what went into the decision making but yeah, we just thought it was really important to continue to engage our parents and families.”
Brehm said there will be virtual crafting and a project with Tech’s Archives about preserving family memories. She said there will also be an in-person art project, as well as a scavenger hunt around the campus and Cookeville.
Tech’s Family weekend will last through Sunday.
