Warren Arts Musical Theater is bringing love and loss to the stage over the next two weekends, with the show My Way-A Musical Tribute To Frank Sinatra.
Co-Director Kennette Dixon said the show is the perfect companion for the Valentine’s season.
“Sinatra wrote a lot of music about love and bad love,” Dixon said. “Relationships in general, and it’s perfect for Valentine’s weekend. It’s a dinner show, so it would be a great Valentine’s date.”
Dixon said there’s over 58 pieces of Sinatra’s music in the show, some familiar some not-so familiar.
“It tells the story of Sinatra’s career and his music,” Dixon said. “Takes you through his life, as well as the music. There’s not really a lot of acting in this, other than just acting with the music. It’s just more just really focused on his music and his legacy as well, and what kind of impact he had on music, even today’s music.”
Dixon said that with a show so focused on one man and his music, the cast had to deliver.
“We’ve got some great talent in this show, vocally,” Dixon said. “They really bring his music to life, put their own spin on it. It’s just going to be a good, fun show.”
Starts times are 6:15 PM this Friday and Saturday, with a 1:30 PM matinee on Sunday. The same schedule repeats the following weekend starting Friday, February 19.
