Obituaries For Thursday, February 11

Rosemary Misner, Age 81 Of Monterey, passed away Wednesday, February 10th at her home. She is survived by her husband, George Misner. Arrangements are incomplete.

Ruby Roberts, age 90 of Cookeville, passed away Wednesday February 10 at NHC Cookeville. Arrangements are incomplete.

Candace Lynn Bays (Braden), age 72 of Cookeville, passed away Tuesday. Arrangements are incomplete.

Private Graveside Service for Tracy Ray Hammock, 32 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, February 12 at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Hammock passed from this life on Sunday, February 7 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Tracy was a loving son, husband, and friend. He had a big personality, was a social butterfly, and loved everyone. Tracy looked forward to going to the Outer Banks, North Carolina beach each year. He was loved by all that knew him and he will be greatly missed. Tracy is survived by, Wife Resa (Farris) Hammock; Parents, Donnie and Kathy Hammock; and beloved Dog, Daisy. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Private graveside services and interment for Dewey Elmer Moss, 82 of Baxter, will be Friday, February 12 at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Ty Fields will officiate. Mr. Moss died Tuesday morning, February 9 at his home after an extended illness. He was a 1957 graduate of Baxter Seminary. In his early years he enjoyed working in furniture manufacturing. He later worked at the Zinc Mine in Carthage where he retired in 2000. He was an avid fisherman and always enjoyed sharing his catches by having big fish fries with family and friends. Survivors include wife of 59 years (Married June 30, 1961) Daisy Howard Moss of Baxter, daughters, Dana (Terry) Fields, Daphne (Mark) Rippetoe; and son, Darryl (Judy) Moss. Memorial donations may be made to the Odd Fellows Cemetery Fund c/o James T. Sherrell, P.O. Box 275, Baxter, TN 38544. There will be a private visitation at the Baxter Chapel.

Funeral services for Dale Holloway, age 73 of Jackson County, will be on Friday, Feb. 12, 2021 at 11 am in the Chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. John Mabry officiating. Burial will follow in Flatt and Woolbright Cemetery in the Center Grove community. He was born August 29 1947 in Jackson County, TN and he passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 a the Cookeville Regional Medical Center at the age of 73. He was the son of Orley McCoy Holloway and Edith Marie Wilmoth Holloway. He was a carpenter and member of the Center Grove Church of Christ. He was married to Vilnessa Mary Flatt Holloway on March 4, 1972. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital by contacting the funeral home. Visitation will be on Thursday, Feb. 11 from 5 to 9 pm.

Graveside services for Mr. Levi S. Sweat, 25 of Algood, will be held at 11 AM on Friday, February 12 at the Hancock Cemetery in the Alpine Community of Overton Co. Officiating with the service will be Bro. Chuck Overton. Mr. Sweat passed away on Thursday, February 4 at the Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. He was born in Cookeville on Tuesday, February 14, 1995 to George and Tina (Garrett) Sweat. Levi will be missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his parents, George and Tina Sweat; and brother, Nathan White. The family has requested to please make memorials to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses. Family will welcome friends at the 11 AM graveside.

Roger Powell Will Officiate With Interment To Follow In The F. A. Norrod Cemetery In Hanging Limb, Tennessee. Mr. Powell Was Born On June 21, 1945, In Oregonia, Ohio, To The Late Erby And Mary Elizabeth Stephie Powell. Mr. Powell Passed Away On Monday, February 8, 2021, At His Home. Mr. Powell Was A Disabled Truck Driver. He Is Survived By His Wife, Linda Phillips Powell Of Monterey, TN; 2 Daughters, Crystal (David) Moore Of Livingston, TN, Linda (Bronson) Kingman Of Allons, TN; 1 Son, James Beason Of Monterey. In Lieu Of Flowers, Memorials May Be Given To The Funeral Home To Assist The Family With Funeral Expenses. The Family Will Receive Friends At Goff Funeral Home On Friday, February 12, 2021, From 10:00 AM Until Time Of Services At 12:00 PM.

Online services for David Russell Ward, age 62 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday. Ward was born on March 24th, 1958 to Walter Russell Ward and Lillian Ophelia Ward, and passed away on January 30th, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Laurel Ward, step-children, Oswaldo Carcache, Jr. and Elizabeth Mountain (husband Jeremiah). David was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on March 2nd, 1975. He was a kind, faithful, unselfish, gentle person. It was rare for him to complain even through his illness. He loved to be outside either enjoying hiking, camping or even just being in the backyard. He knew almost any tree or flower he saw and if he didn’t recognize it, he would learn what it was.

Celebration Of Life Services For George Vincent Miller, Age 58 Of Cookeville, Will Be Conducted On Saturday, February 13 At 12:00 PM At The Monterey Community Church. Rev. Eddy Way Will Officiate. Mr. Miller Passed Away On Friday, February 5 At The Vanderbilt University Medical Center In Nashville. Vince Worked At Dacco In Cookeville. He Was A Carpenter, A United States Marine Veteran, And Attended Monterey Community Church. In Addition To His Father, He Is Survived By His Wife, Tarina Sitto Miller Of Cookeville; 3 Daughters, Deidre Miller Of Gainesboro, Hannah Miller Of Cookeville, Alexis Miller Of Cookeville, TN; and 1 Son, Zachary Miller Of Cookeville. The Family Will Receive Friends At Monterey Community Church On Saturday, February 13 From 11:00 AM Until Time Of Services At 12:00 PM.

Funeral services for Ollie Elise Moles, age 96 of Cookeville, will be at 1 PM Saturday February 13 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Moles passed away Wednesday February 10 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until service time.

Memorial Service for Sally Nunley Burrows, 85 of Sparta, will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Jeff Guth officiating. She passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born Thursday, November 7, 1935 in Coalmont, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Matt and Nora Rogers Nunley. She was a caregiver for over 20 years. She loved being with people and spending time with her family. Survivors include son- Mike Burrows (Susan) of McMinnville, TN; Daughters- Sherry Rose (Donnie) of Sparta, TN and Jackie Burrows Miller of Sparta, TN. The family will welcome friends on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until time of the service at the funeral home.
