Obituaries For Friday, February 5

Robert Harold Stickler, 78, died Friday at Morningside of Cookeville. No services are planned.

Mr. William (Bill) A. Howell, age 87 of Cookeville, passed away after a long illness on Thursday February 4, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. No services are planned. He was born November 30, 1933 in Old Hickory, TN to the late Wesley and Maidell Fulghum Howell of White Bluff, TN. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sadie Glasner Howell; and son, Michael Howell of Hartsville, TN.

Funeral services for Mr. Jack Allen Breon, age 75 of Sparta, will be conducted 12:00pm Saturday, February 6 from the Quarles Room of Hunter Funeral Home. Mr. Breon passed away on Tuesday, February 2 at Unity Medical Center in Manchester. Mr. Breon was born May 20, 1945 in Loganton, Pennsylvania. He moved to Illinois to start his business Illini Construction Specialties. He retired in 2000 and moved to Sparta with his wife Barbara, where he worked as hard around his home as he did in business. He dedicated his endless energy to woodworking, gardening, landscaping and feeding the birds that visited his property. He was happy to help his neighbors that needed his expertise in electrical, building and plumbing. Survivors includ his include his wife, Barbara Breon; children, Daniele Masiak, Kelly Siperco, and Tad Breon. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mr. Lenard M. Broyles, 92 of Sparta, will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 6 at West Sparta Church of Christ with Jeff Turner officiating. Burial with full military honors by the Veterans’ Honor Guard will follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Broyles passed away on Tuesday, February 2 at his home surrounded by his children. After serving in the Army Air Force, Mr. Broyles went to work for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier for 34 1/2 years. He was known for his painting and wall papering skills. He was a member of the West Sparta Church of Christ. Survivors include children, Patty Rose (Marvin), Sherry Beth Mills (Dennis), Teria Ridley (Devin), and Michael Broyles (Connie Swann). The family will welcome friends on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until time of the service at the church.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial for Imogene Frances Delape, 89 of Cookeville, will be Saturday, February 6 at 12 Noon at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Aby B. Thanickal officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Delape died Wednesday morning, February 3, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born June 19, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Raymond and Madeline Stamm O’Connor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael John Delape, Sr. and a son, Michael John Delape, Jr. Mrs. Delape was a homemaker and member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She always had a welcoming spirit and especially enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Survivors include daughter, Veronica Waites of Byrdstown; sons, Kim Henry (Anita) Delape of Monterey, Darren Delape of Cookeville. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 11 AM until service time at the church.

Funeral services for Richard Paul England, more commonly known as Little Richard, 75 of Sparta, will be conducted 2:00pm Saturday, February 6, 2021 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors by the Veterans’ Honor Guard will follow in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Bro. Nathan Hawkins will officiate and eulogy will be read by Richard Allen England. Serving the family as pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Brannon Randolph, Raquel Goff, Saige Johnson, Nalan Pack, Cole Robinson and Mackenzie Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Gage Randolph and Avalei Randolph. Richard was a native of White County where he graduated from White County High School in 1963. He joined the United States Air Force as an MP where he was stationed in the Panama Canal during the Vietnam War. He was an over the road truck driver for 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, gardening, and reading books in his spare time. The register book will be available Friday from 8:30am until 4:00pm in the parlor of Hunter Funeral Home for friends not comfortable being in a crowd. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00am until service time at 2:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home.

Memorial services for Mr. Dallas Davis, age 75 of Sparta, will be conducted 4:00pm Saturday, February 6 at Smith Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Smith passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the VA Medical Center in Nashville. He had a work career that spanned from Crossville Rubber to the oil fields in Texas, eventually retiring from Red Kap. He was an avid fisherman, gardener and ginseng hunter. His hard work ethic carried over into his hobbies, as was evident in the pride he took in his tomato garden and crop each year. His tomatoes were sold at the Farmer’s Market as well as Floyd’s grocery store. Dallas served his country in the U.S. Army guarding the Berlin Wall during the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife Helen Davis with whom he married August 6, 1965 of Sparta; and son, Sam Davis and wife Becky of Sparta. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00pm from until service time at the church. Charles Christopher and Wayne Sullivan will officiate.

Funeral services for Martha Ann Simmons Sullivan, age 70 of Sparta, will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday, February 7, 2021 in the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in the Smith Chapel Cemetery. She passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born February 7, 1950 in Anderson, Indiana to the late Herbert Eston, Sr. and Virgie Simmons. Martha was very fond of her dogs, along with chocolate and tending to her array of plants & gardening, but she cherished her family which includes her 3 daughters: Jeannette Champion, Jennifer Lack, and Jenny Mae (Danny) Bentley. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8pm on Saturday evening. Bro. Tracy Curtis will officiate the service. Due to Covid-19 regulations, please wear a mask and social distance when in attendance at the funeral home.

Funeral Services for James Franklin Rittenberry, age 76 of Sparta, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 8 at Corinth Church of Christ with John Pippin officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery. Mr. Rittenberry passed away Thursday, February 4 at St. Thomas Midtown in Nashville. He was presently a minister at Corinth Church of Christ, where he has been preaching for many years. He worked at Thomas Industry for 38 years. He loved his family, especially his grandkids. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Jackie Jenkins Rittenberry; daughter, Renae (Teddy) Stockton; and son, Shane (Sarah) Rittenberry. The family will welcome friends on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until time of the service at the church.

Mrs. McNeil Passed Away On Thursday, February 4 At Her Home. Mrs. McNeil Was A Homemaker And Worked In Retail Sales. She Was A Member Of The Lutheran Church In Dearborn, Michigan. She Is Survived By Her Husband Of Almost 50 Years, Ray McNeil Of Monterey; 4 Sons And Daughters-In-Law, Norman And Jennifer Dimeck Of Scottsdale, AZ, Thomas And Maria Dimeck Of Phoenix, AZ, Carl And Dawn Dimeck Of Paris, IL, Raymond III And Audrey McNeil Of Shawboro, NC. The Family Will Receive Friends At Goff Funeral Home On Wednesday, February 10, 2021, From 1:00 PM Until Time Of Services At 2:00 PM.

Memorial Service for Sally Nunley Burrows, 85 of Sparta, will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Jeff Guth officiating. She passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born Thursday, November 7, 1935 in Coalmont, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Matt and Nora Rogers Nunley. She was a caregiver for over 20 years. She loved being with people and spending time with her family. Survivors include son- Mike Burrows (Susan) of McMinnville, TN; Daughters- Sherry Rose (Donnie) of Sparta, TN and Jackie Burrows Miller of Sparta, TN. The family will welcome friends on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until time of the service at the funeral home.
