The BlueCross Bowl still needs volunteers as crowds descend on Cookeville this weekend.
Cookeville-Putnam County Visitor’s Bureau Executive Director Molly Brown said the need is bigger than ever, with over 700 shifts of volunteers working. Brown said they’re looking for groups inside the same household to help with social distancing during all the different jobs.
“It could be anything from parking to taking temperature checks for fans coming in,” Brown said. “Checking to make sure tickets are scanned as they walk through the gate and just welcoming people to Cookeville, as well.”
Brown said the volunteer center has been moved to the Hooper Eblen Center and they are streamlining the check-in process. She said there are changes to one big part of volunteering.
“We’re also putting parking in a different location that’s closer there next to the new fitness center there off Willow Avenue,” Brown said. “Lots of things to be able to help volunteers to make their process safer.”
Brown said anyone interested in volunteering can visit CookevilleChampions.com. She said the first round of volunteers have already begun their virtual ambassador work, keeping in contact with teams who will be participating in the BlueCross Bowl.
