The Fentress County Sheriff’s Department is accepting toy donations until December 18th for its annual toy drive.
The department is asking for new toys or games for kids up to 13 years old. Chief Deputy Rockford Garret said unwrapped gifts can be dropped off at the sheriff’s department on Justice Center Drive.
“It is for needy children and kids that ain’t fortunate enough to have anything,” Garret said. “We try to get people to donate to them, and we take them and distribute them out to them around Christmas time, so they have a good Christmas.”
Garret said the department will take names of children to receive the donations until the deadline. Last year, over 200 children received new toys through the program.
“Come to 140 Justice Center Drive. That would be the Justice Center here,” Garret said. “We have a phone number here, (931)-879-8142, if they have any questions.”
