Cookeville Texas Roadhouse Yet To Break Ground

Cookeville’s Texas Roadhouse has yet to break ground due to a back log of about 15 other locations set to open beforehand nationally.

Vice President Of Communications Travis Doster said even though the development report does not have a completion date, the Cookeville location could open next summer.

“The schedule got thrown off just a little bit,” Doster said. “Usually we will declare in a year we are going to open X amount of restaurants. We try to stick with that just cause we have so many people and so many moving parts. We do not want to get ahead of ourselves.”

Doster said construction usually only takes 120 days once started. The planned restaurant in front of the Shoppes at Eagle Point along Interstate Drive will provide around 170 jobs and have an economical impact of around $1.2 million annually.

“We have been looking at this area for Cookeville for over two years,” Doster said. “We are still committed, still anxious to get open, but unfortunately, we just do not have a time frame, right now.”

A general contractor for the project has not been found. The original plan was to open last September. Doster said managing partner Jim Jolly will still operate the restaurant.

Texas Roadhouse has nine locations in the state of Tennessee and are based out of Louisville, Kentucky.
