A drive thru flu shot clinic in Cookeville will be ready for patients Tuesday.
Putnam County Health Department Director Lisa Bumbalough said flu shots are free and appointments are not necessary.
“This year we are changing our location for the drive thru clinic,” Bumbalough said. “We’ll be offering it every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at the Cookeville Community Center on Carlen Drive.”
Bumbalough said free flu shots are also available at the Health Department Monday through Friday. She said this is the first time the state has waved the flu shot fee this early in flu season.
The Health Department has offered a drive thru flu shot clinic the past few years.
“We have a lot of good response from the public, we have a lot of request for that, it’s very convenient for those coming through the line,” Bumbalough said. “Especially due to COVID right now, it’s certainly I think going to be well received.”
The drive thru clinic will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Health Department office will be open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
