A solution for Findlay Elementary School’s leak in the main hallway has been found after almost a year of attempted repairs.
Director of Schools Kurt Dronebarger said contractors will install metal flashing pieces throughout the wall to carry the water to the roof system.
“The architects have gotten together with the construction company, and they have done some test areas and test panels on specific areas on the wall,” Dronebarger said. “They have had some good success there. They think they are going to recreate that on the extent on that wall. The process is under way.”
Dronbarger said the school system is waiting for fitted metal pieces to arrive before completing the repairs. Dronbarger said the expenses for the project are being covered by the contractors who built the building.
“December would be the one year anniversary of the building being handed over to us,” Dronebarger said. “We hope to have all that completed within that year, of course, but it is not affecting school from happening.”
Dronebarger said the ceiling tiles have continuously been replaced this year, but the costs have also been directed to the contractors.
