Patsy Rhea (O’Brien) Bass, age 90 of Cookeville, passed away peacefully at her home in bed Thursday. Pat was world-renowned for her lack of patience, not holding back her opinion and a knack for telling it like it is. She always told you the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. She will be sorely missed by her daughter, B.J. Carr, son, Cody and Rachel Bass. Cremation will take place at the family’s convenience. No services will be held.
Dr. Thomas Gatewood Qualls, 78 of Sparta, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020, at NHC HealthCare Smithville. A Celebration of life will be held on a later date.
Funeral services for Bro. Dewey Glen Masters, age 84 of the Poplar Springs Community, will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 11 AM with burial to follow in the Poplar Springs Cemetery in the Poplar Springs Community of Overton County. Bro. Dewey Glen Masters was born in Hilham, Overton Co., TN on August 19, 1936 to the late Edward and Savannah (Johnson) Masters. He was a Minister for the Lord for many years and was a member of the Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church and also was a school bus driver for Overton Co. Bro. Dewey’s life was a testimony for each of us to live by, he was a true man of God and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include 2 Daughters: Robbie Byrd and her husband Johnny, Lisa Poskevich and her husband Dan; 1 Son: Chris Masters and his wife Tara. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, September 4th starting at 5 PM until 8 PM. Officiating the service will be Bro. Jeremy Byrd.

Mr. Crisp Passed Away On Wednesday, September 2, 2020, At The Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mr. Crisp Was Retired From Crossville Rubber Products Where He Had Worked For 29 Years. He Is Survived By His Wife Of 46 Years, Linda Tinch Crisp Of Mayland, TN; Daughter, April Crisp Of Mayland, TN. The Family Will Receive Friends At Goff Funeral Home On Friday, September 4, 2020, From 5:00 PM Until 8:00 PM.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wanda Grace Burton, age 86 will be held Saturday, September 5 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Justin Randolph will officiate. Nursing honors will be rendered by the Tennessee Nurses Honor Guard. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Burton died Thursday morning, September 3, 2020 at Bailey Manor in Cookeville. Wanda was a dedicated nurse having worked at Cookeville Regional Medical Center and alongside Dr. James Shaw. Mrs. Burton is survived by her three children, Mike (Cathy) Burton of Cookeville, (Ricky) Maddux of Franklin, and Teresa (Gary) Huddleston of Glasgow, KY. The family wants to express their sincere appreciation to the caregivers at Bailey Manor and Kindred Hospice for their excellent care. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. till service time at the funeral home.
Funeral services for Vickey Davidson Scott, age 76 of Gainesboro, will be held Sunday at 1pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pharris Cemetery. Bro. Mike Fox will officiate. She was born September 8, 1943 in Gainesboro, TN and she passed away in Thomason, Georgia on Wednesday morning at the age of 76. She was the daughter of Hiram Davidson and Ethel Avo Stafford Davidson. She was a homemaker and member of the Baptist faith. Visitation will be Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 11 am until funeral service at 1 pm.
A Memorial Service for Charles Edward Holman,81, of Sparta, will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home at 3 p.m. with Bro. Bo Hendrix officiating. He passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2020 in Chattanooga. Mr. Holman proudly served his country in the U.S. Army discharged in 1964 after serving a tour in Korea. He was a light weapons infantryman. Mr. Holman is survived by his Daughter, Tonya Holman (Johnny Jones) of Walling, and his son Jeremy Holman of Lees Summit, MO. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 p.m. Until the time of service.
Graveside services for Diane M. Schimberg, age 63 of Baxter, will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020 beginning at 10:00 am at Smellage Memory Gardens Cemetery. Interment will follow in Smellage Memory Gardens, Boma, TN. Diane passed from this life on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Diane was a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She worked many years in housekeeping at Knights Inn and Best Western Motel. She was an animal lover, and loved flea marketing, garage sales, and searching for antiques with her husband Charles. Diane is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Charles Schimberg of Baxter.
A memorial service for Mrs. Patricia Ann McClellan Sherrell, age 78 of Sparta, will be held 11:15 am Sunday, September 13, 2020 at the Sparta First Presbyterian Church. Rev. David Eisenmengar will officiate. She passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Life Center of Sparta.
