Sources say part of Putnam County’s computer and data systems have been restored.
The county has been having issues for about 2 weeks. County officials would not comment, citing an ongoing FBI investigation.
A spokesperson from the FBI’s Nashville Field Office will not confirm or deny the investigation but said officially that the FBI is aware of the matter.
Previously, on July 28th Putnam County’s emergency services and the Putnam County Information Technology Department experienced a network disruption. That disruption impacted the ability to access certain data systems, including systems used by law enforcement and emergency services.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said they immediately launched an investigation. For the initial investigation, computer forensic specialists, the FBI and Secret Service worked with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
