The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce should have a new website launched this fall.
The chamber finished the county’s tourism website, “Explore JCTN,” earlier this year. Chamber Director Jordan Hunter it’s the chamber’s turn for a virtual upgrade.
“That is our next goal is to update that, update our structure on how our memberships are set up, and make it more useful for people who are trying to find out information about our county,” Hunter said. “Also, make it more beneficial to our members who are supporting us.”
Hunter said he believes the old site is underutilized. He hopes both websites will increase internet and tourism traffic, which could lead to more businesses entering Jackson County.
“Our population isn’t able to spend dollars here right now,” Hunter said. “The more people we can get to come in, the more likely it is that we can get other stores here and be able to support themselves in the county.”
The new site will have an updated business directory and membership of information page.
