Miss Courtney Nicole Copeland, beloved daughter of Michael M. ‘Mike’ Copeland and Mimi Morman Copeland, age 39 of Cookeville, passed away Monday August 3 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. There are no services planned at this time. Her family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Cookeville/Putnam County Animal Shelter.

William “Bill” James Sevier, Age 71, Passed On To Heavenly Glory On Monday August 3 At His Home In The Cumberland Cove Community.He Is Survived By His Wife Linda Of 49 Years and Sons Brian (Dani), Kevin (Nikki) and Greg (Rachelle). There Will Be A Celebration Of Life At A Later Date.

Jim Krautkramer, 77 of Cookeville passed away on Sunday August 2. 2020. at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born Wednesday, December 2, 1942 in Marathon, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Franklin Krautkramer and the late Lillian Drangler Krautkramer. Jim was a avid member of the senior groups in Cookeville. He loved bowling, golfing, dancing, and doing anything to be with friends. His favorite time of the day was spending the evening with his fiancéé Joyce Herron. Jim is survived by daughter Cassie (Derek) Eliason; Sons Aaron (Danette) Krautkramer and Parish Krautkramer. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Dr. Joseph Carl Seiter, age 85 of Cookeville, died Sunday. He was the only son born to Joseph Carl Seiter Sr., professor of piano at Syracuse University, and Frances Bouts (or Boutz) Seiter of Las Cruces, New Mexico. The Seiters then lived in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Seiter joined the faculty at Tennessee Tech University (TTU) in January 1974. Dr. Seiter’s early years at TTU included developing new curriculum or reactivating other courses in need of staffing. Computer technology began to require increasing faculty attention so Dr. Seiter began preparations to learn and later teach the computer application courses required in the College of Education and the College of Nursing. Dr. Seiter greatly enjoyed working with other faculty in the development and teaching of the State Legislature’s mandated 21st Century Classroom Instructional Technology course. Dr. Seiter retired in 2000 from Tennessee Tech University. In 1983, at age 47, being far from the snow and ice of Colorado, Dr. Seiter became active in the martial arts and attained the rank of second degree black belt with the United Tak Won Do studio of the late Mr. Jack Scott affiliated with the United Karate Studios of Dalton, Georgia. He was active in many karate competitions both as a competitor and judge and enjoyed teaching the martial arts at the studios in Cookeville and in Dalton. With the demands of the martial arts finally taking their toll on his physical frame, in 1994 Dr. Seiter moved away from Tak Won Do to a renewal of interest in swimming. Dr. Seiter attended The River Church. Dr. Seiter is survived by his loving wife, Helen; daughters, Marsha Leann Dyer and husband Bryan Dyer of Cookeville, Tammy Renea West and husband Teral West of Smithville. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Cookeville/Putnam County Animal Shelter, 2650 Gainesboro Grade, Cookeville, TN 38501.

Funeral services for Mrs. Geneva Helen Taylor, age 97 of the Dry Hollow Community, will be conducted 3 pm Wednesday, August 5th, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Bro. Nolan Cantrell and Bro. David Moore will officiate. Burial will be in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Geneva Helen Taylor passed away peacefully Saturday, August 1st, at Heritage Pointe Senior Living. She was born near Blytheville, Arkansas, on January 14, 1923, to parents Mark K. Skelton and Dora Lucy Skelton. Geneva was a Christian and a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She loved her family, fishing, church, and gardening. She also loved teaching children in Sunday School and being the “candy lady” at church. She was the best mother anyone could have to the very end of her days. Survived by daughters Marilyn Thorne (Lanier) of Bartlett, TN and Rebecca Thompson (Randall Boswell) of the Dry Hollow Community of Overton County. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 pm and again on Wednesday from 12 noon until time of services at 3 pm at Livingston Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life for Jesse Lesley “Les” Stedam, age 74, of Lancing, will be held Thrursday at 7:30pm at Davis Funeral Home in Wartburg. He went home to be with the Lord July 31, 2020. He was born the second of 16 children to Lee & Annie Stedam. Les attended Deer Lodge Elementary and graduated from Sunbright High School. After moving to Markleville, Indiana he worked for Nicholson File & Pimrode Tool and Die. Les moved back Tennessee in 1984 and worked for Oak Ridge Tool and TN Tool and Engineering. Les loved hunting & fishing and was a great handyman. The time he spent with his family will always be cherished. He enjoyed playing card games (and always winning with his partner, Peanut) and going to the races with his sons, Mark & Mike. Riding four wheelers, scouting deer tracks, road trips, pond hunting, fishing, and picnics in the woods (equipped with a BBQ sandwich from Harry’s) will always be special memories that his grandchildren hold dear. Les loved telling jokes, and he made sure to give his “short wave” to every one he passed. Survivors include sons, Mike Stedam and wife Freda, and Mark Stedam. The family will receive friends 6:00-7:30pm on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Davis Funeral Home, Wartburg Chapel.

Celebration of Life services for Mr. Prentice Dwight Stewart, age 73 of the Sulfur Community, will be conducted 1 PM Saturday, August 8, 2020, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Cameron Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Eckels Cemetery with military honors provided at graveside by the Overton County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will welcome friends from 12 noon until time of services at 1 PM. Mr. Stewart passed from the comfort of his home on Wednesday, March 25, 2020. He was born in Overton County, Tennessee on January 19, 1947 to the late William T. “Buster” & Myrtle Grace Carr Stewart. Dwight was a member of the Church of Christ and a 1965 graduate of Rickman High School.
