The NHC Cookeville long-term care facility reported 11 positive COVID cases Sunday.
The cluster includes six positive tests among patients and five positive tests among employees. One patient and one employee have already recovered. Another patient has been transferred to the hospital.
The South Walnut Avenue facility, home to 83 residents, reports one additional case under investigation.
Cookeville’s branch becomes the second Upper Cumberland NHC facility to deal with an outbreak in the last two weeks. NHC McMinnville reported 38 positive cases with 21 people recovered. As of Sunday, an additional ten employees are awaiting results.
The state reports a cluster outbreak at Smith County Health and Rehabilitation in Carthage with 27 total cases. 17 of those are among patients. Two positive employee cases have been reported at Signature Healthcare of Fentress County
A total of 113 long-term care facilities statewide are currently working COVID clusters.
