New Scoreboard Coming For Clay Co. HS

The Clay County High School Football Field will have a new scoreboard for the coming season.

The Clay County Board of Education accepted a bid from M.T. Scores, Inc. in Smyrna to install the new scoreboard and two play clocks at both ends of the field. Hermitage Springs Principle Mike Gee said the company installed scoreboards there two years ago, and he has been impressed with the service they provide.

“When he was there and installed them, he told me you can call me any time you have a problem,” Gee said. “And so I called him about 20-minutes before game time and he walked me through on the phone what to do. That fixed the problem, and I haven’t talked to the man since, and they’ve worked spotless since then.”

Gee said the board has been used almost daily since its installation with no problems. The Board voted Thursday to accept the bid on the condition it could explore the option to save money doing some the installation prep work.

Director of Coordinated School Health Rob Edwards said the scoreboard would be roughly the same size as the one currently in place.

“It is, not counting the ads on it,” Edwards said. “It’s the same size as what they are offering, the actual scoreboard itself.”

M.T. Scores has also installed score boards in Trousdale County as well as for Vanderbilt baseball.
