Recycling Resumes In Clay County

Clay County’s recycling convenience centers have reopened.

Interim Director of Solid Waste Ann Deckard said since the Covid shutdown ended, residents have been doing their part to help the environment.

“Our county considers it very important,” Deckard said. “Due to the fact that we love recycling and try to promote it all we can. We try to keep everything that we possibly can out of our landfills.”

Deckard said Clay County has seven substations reopened to take your recyclables. Residents are asked to unload their own recyclables. But, each substation has employees with protective gear ready to assist disabled residents unload.

Convenient centers are located at Pea Ridge, Willow Grove, Moss, Mount Vernon, Hermitage Springs and Free Hill communities. Along with one located on Industrial Lane.

The county originally suspended recycling to lower the risk of spreading the coronavirus.
