Crossville 4th Celebration Still On, But Fireworks Only

The City of Crossville will celebrate the Fourth of July with a boom, but that’s about it.

Day activities and concerts are cancelled for the day, leaving the fireworks show. Leisure Services Director Ethan Medley said social distancing will be encouraged during the fireworks show.

“Normally, each year we have obviously the fireworks show here in Centennial Park,” Medley said. “During the day we normally have concerts, bouncy houses, and all that good stuff, but a lot of that is not going to happen this year. It’s strictly a fireworks show, we’re not going to have the things during the day that we normally do.”

Medley said the department will know more about how social distancing will be implemented the closer the day gets. He said a drive in fireworks show could be possible.

“It’s a big deal here and it’s important that we have something,” Medley said. “We’ve been through a lot these past few weeks and months and we definitely want to have something. That’s why we’re definitely going to have a show, it’s just a matter of what it will actually look like.”

The fireworks show is set to begin the same time after dark in Centennial Park as last year.
