The Overton County Health and Rehab Center will receive $637,000 dollars for paycheck protections from the federal government.
The funds are from a loan backed by the Paycheck Protection Program of the CARES Act. As long as 75 percent of the money is used for payroll expenses including wages, employee health insurance, or retirement contributions, the loan will be forgiven.
The Overton County Commission voted 13-1 Monday night to approve the loan. Geraldine Walker was the lone no vote.
The CARES Act was passed by Congress January 24. It is providing over $2 trillion dollars for relief money due to COVID-19.
