A Cookeville woman died Friday afternoon when the vehicle she was driving collided head-on with a dump truck.
36-year-old Casey Douglas died on the scene. A male passenger, Johnathan Douglas of Baxter, was life-flighted to Vanderbilt Medical Center.
The accident happened around 2:00pm Friday afternoon. According to Cookeville Police, Douglas was traveling southbound on Willow Avenue near Gould Drive. A dump truck driven by 64-year-old Donald Null was travelling northbound. The two vehicles collided coming to rest in the middle of the roadway.
Police are asking anyone who might have witnessed the accident to call Cookeville Police. The wreck remains under investigation.
