Crossville-based Grinder House Coffee has found away to enjoy the old normal in the new normal.
Known for bringing artists to its stage twice weekly, the shop is now hosting “stuck at home events” on their Facebook page. The shows feature singer-songwriters. Grinder House Coffee Co-Owner Asa Reese said the online showcase is an extension of the 150-plus live Tuesday night performances that have been held in the coffee Shop.
Reese said both artists and those quarantined can benefit from the experience.
“It’s really kind of a great diversion from all the stress that we are having,” said Reese. “It gives you an hour to get away from everything that is going on in our lives today.”
Reese said they simply expanded what they were normally doing because they knew the artists were stuck in the house.
“These are artists and artists just need to do their craft,” said Reese. “They are starving for it.”
The performances happen on Tuesday and Friday nights from 7 pm until the artists is finished. Some artists do have digital tip jars where you can donate.
