The number of Upper Cumberland COVID-19 cases rose to 46 Tuesday, according to the Tennessee Department Of Health.
Putnam County has 24 confirmed cases. Cumberland County has 11. Dekalb County has four while Smith County has its second case. Overton County also reports two cases. Fentress, Warren and White Counties each have one case.
Clay, Jackson, Pickett and Van Buren Counties have no reported cases. Fewer than 25 people have been tested in each of those counties. Health officials have urged only those people with symptoms who have consulted with their primary care physician be tested.
Four of the Putnam County cases are being hospitalized at Cookeville Regional, according to CRMC officials.
A total of 2,239 confirmed cases have been reported in Tennessee while the death toll grew Tuesday to 23. 175 people have been hospitalized statewide.
