With the first confirmed COVID-19 case in Fentress County, County Executive Jimmy Johnson urged local residents to practice social distancing and stay calm.
“We’ve been preparing for for this for for a few weeks now,” Johnson said. “We’re coordinating with the Department of Health Care and to make sure Fentress County’s residents are protected the best that we can.”
Johnson said the individual who tested positive is self-quarantining at home.
Urging residents to stay home as much as possible, Johnson said it’s important to take care of business as quickly as possible. He said residents should avoid lingering, for example at restaurants after ordering take-out.
The Fentress County Health Department continues COVID-19 testing each afternoon this week.
“If you’re feeling bad before you go anywhere, call,” Johnson said. “And just stay home, stay home and stay away from folks.”
