Cookeville Regional Medical Center reports its first hospitalized patient with COVID-19.
The patient entered the hospital Wednesday and has been on isolation with symptoms since. Care providers for the patient have been following all CDC guidelines to limit the spread of the virus.
A CRMC staffer also tested positive for the coronavirus. That person last worked March 23. The staff member received the positive test result Thursday and has been self-quarantining at home. CRMC has contacted those who have been in contact with the employee.
“We continue to screen all patients and staff,” CEO Paul Korth said. “Any staff member who is sick is required to stay home. Patients known to be at risk for COVID-19 infection are immediately isolated to prevent any potential spread.”
