Graduation dates for the three Putnam County High Schools will be announced no later than May 1.
Interim Director Of Schools Corby King said the date will give the community a better understanding of the situation surrounding COVID-19. King said the system remains dedicated to celebrating this special milestone.
“We do not intend to cancel these activities,” King said. “If we postpone them, we’re still going to have the activities. We want you to have these activities.
King said if health officials urge large gatherings to be cancelled, school officials will work with parents and students to develop alternate plans later in the summer.
The Cookeville High School Prom has been moved tentatively to May 22. Monterey and Upperman’s proms remain as scheduled. King said final decisions on all three proms will be made May 1.
