Going To The Doctor Without Going To The Doctor

President Trump called on Americans this week to use telemedicine to help fight the coronavirus. A Cookeville company is creating the technology used to serve patients online.

Intellectual Care and Satellite Med in Cookeville offer the latest in technology when it comes to patient care through Telemedicine’s virtual, video-call medical services.

“I designed the software for Satellite Med and we’re currently trying to replicate that software for as many people that want it,” CEO and Co-Founder of Intellectual Care Wilson Cates said.

Telemedicine provides medical care, diagnosis and even prescriptions for the diagnosed ailments for a public striving to maintain social distance.

People still need diagnosis and treatment for ailments that do not present with flu-like symptoms. If you aren’t showing signs or symptoms of the Coronavirus, going to a medical facility could expose you.

“Telemedicine access gives them a way to not go into a sick facility and still get the same care from local professionals.”

Telemedicine is currently available to treat 27 different issues from flu and abdominal concerns to pulmonary issues and more through Satellite Med’s website from 8am – 5pm Monday through Friday and after hours from 7-8pm Sunday through Thursday.

Subscription services, individual case-by-case appointments and billing to insurance is all available through Telemedicine at satellitemed.com.
