The Center for Profitable Agriculture plans to host an educational boot camp for farmers looking to improve business at their local Farmers Market.
The program will be held Wednesday in Livingston. Financial analyst Hal Pepper said the plan is to help farmers increase profits.
“The whole goal of this is to help folks set up at farmer’s markets to make more money and help in their business planning,” Pepper said.
Peppers said they plan to cover merchandising displays, trends in digital marketing, business planning and pricing strategies. The program started nine years ago and became popular amoung the farming community.
“We had a lot of interest in the workshops, so it quickly morphed until a full-day program, so folks could take advantage of that,” Pepper said. “We’ve gone across the state with these workshops.”
You can pre-register to attend the workshop online at tiny.utk.edu/fmboot-camp2020. Check-in begins at 8:30 while the sessions are from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
