Members of around fifteen different agencies are currently assisting in efforts to assist residents affected by Tuesday morning’s tornadoes.
According to Putnam County Sheriff Eddie Farris, efforts will continue as long as possible, with plans being made for tomorrow’s efforts when that is no longer possible.
“Sixty percent of houses in the area are still standing, and we went through all of these,” Farris said.
Farris said several destroyed houses have basements and rubble will need to be removed in order to complete the search.
One of the goals is to keep the area calm throughout the night.
“A curfew will be enacted in the damaged area from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. to keep any criminals from causing any problems,” Farris said.
