Jim Hughes, age 78, of Cookeville, passed away February 16 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Sally Murphy, age 81 of Cookeville, will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 10 AM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the West Cemetery located in the Bangham Community. Mrs. Sarah Sally Murphy age 81 of Cookeville, Overton Co., TN went home to be with her Lord on Sunday morning, February 16, 2020 at the Standing Stone Health and Rehabilitation in Monterey, Putnam Co., TN with her family by her side. Sarah Sally Murphy was born in Livingston, Overton Co., TN on April 21, 1938 to the late Ernest and Agnes (Mullins) Smith. Sarah was a housewife and was of the Freewill Baptist Faith. Her family loved Sarah very much and in return she loved them back. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by 1 Son: Johnny “John” Michael Murphy and wife Vonette; 2 Daughters: Jenny Murphy, Leesa Hays Rockwell and husband Jack; 1 Sister: Helen Norrod; 5 Grandchildren: Brice Murphy and wife Mary, Lucas Murphy and wife Jennifer, Jamie Phipps, Jesse Phipps, Charity Stuart and her husband Jeb; 3 Great Grandchildren: Haley Murphy, Jonah Murphy, Josiah Murphy; 1 Sister: Helen Norrod. A host of family and friends also survive.Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening February 17th starting at 5 PM to 8 PM. Officiating the service will be Bro. John Murphy.
Funeral services for Dr. Marilyn Patricia Poteet-Langford, age 65 of Sparta, will be conducted 1:00pm Tuesday, February 18, 2020 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Old Union Cemetery. She died Friday morning, February 14, 2020 at Life Care Center of Sparta. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00pm until 8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. John Lawson will officiate.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Jeffery Lee Smith age 55 of Livingston, will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 2 PM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston. Officiating the service will be Bro. Terry McCloud. The family has chosen cremation after the service. He passed from this life at Cookeville Regional Medical Center on Friday, February 14, 2020. Mr. Jeffery Lee Smith was born in Livingston, Overton Co., TN on October 8, 1964 to Thomas Edward and Shirley Delores (Ray) Smith. Jeff worked in welding. He loved his family especially his grandchildren. His family will miss him very much. He is survived by 2 Sons: Thomas A. Smith of Livingston, TN and Joshua L. Smith of Cookeville, TN; 1 Daughter: Amanda K. Jolly of Crossville, TN; Parents: Thomas and Shirley (Ray) Smith of Livingston, TN; 1 Sister: Renea S. Grant of Cookeville, TN; 1 Brother: Michael Smith of Alpine, TN; 11 Grandchildren: Caden Tharp, Ciarra Jolly, Parker Smith, Aliya Tharp, William Jolly, Aayden Harris, Nora Smith, Charly Smith, Drew Jolly, Alisabeth Smith, Evelyn Smith.
Funeral services for Mr. Michael (Mike) Wayne Freeman, age 57, of Cookeville will be held Wednesday February 19 at 3 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Stone and Rev. Mike Head will officiate. Interment will follow in the Cookeville City Cemetery. His family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 p.m. until time of service. Michael passed away Saturday February 15, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services for Mary Jane “Mollie” Rogers, age 83 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday February 20 at 2 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. She passed away Saturday morning February 15, 2020 at Signature Health Care of Putnam County. Her family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 – 8 p.m. and again Thursday from 12 noon until time of services.
Funeral services for William Herman Smith, age 86, of Cookeville, will be on Sunday February 23 at 2 p.m. at Friendship United Methodist Church. Interment with military honors will follow at Smith Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 p.m. until time of service at church. Mr. Smith passed away Saturday February 15 at his home.
