A Smithville man faces an aggravated assault charge after he allegedly pulled a gun on a woman and her two children.
71-year-old Bennie Evans will answer to the charge during a February 27 court hearing.
The incident happened last week after the woman drove into a parking spot at her Cookeville Highway home. A police report said Evans approached and started an argument with the woman as she tried to exit the vehicle. Evans allegedly placed his hands on the car door and pointed a .22 caliber Baretta toward the vehicle.
Authorities said the woman’s two children were inside the car when the incident took place. No one suffered injuries.
