Upper Cumberland Regional Airport manager Dean Selby received a 5-percent raise Tuesday.
Airport board chairman and County Mayor Randy Porter said Selby has done an outstanding job over the past two years.
“I look back to when we chose him and he’s for sure outperformed more than I ever expected,” Porter said. “I knew he was going to do a great job, but I never dreamed that we could develop the things that we’ve done over the past few years.”
The airport board approved the raise during Tuesday’s meeting. Selby’s salary will increase from $69,550 to $73,027. Selby had not received a raise since 2018.
Selby thanked the board and said he would like them to be more involved with evaluating potential raises for employees.
“I would like to involve the board more in that, rather than it just me going in there and trying to evaluate them,” Selby said. “Especially after some of the stuff that the comptroller has run into across the state.”
The board agreed to consider increases for employees when they meet in June.
