The old Cup and Saucer building in Monterey is getting closer to becoming the new Los Agaves restaurant.
Los Agaves owner David Louis Caratachea said renovations are almost complete.
“We’re almost done, we’re about to finish with the tile on the floors. The dry wall is up, ceiling’s ready. We have most of our kitchen equipment there, I mean we’re pretty close we have pretty much 90 percent done,” Caratachea said.
They are expecting to open the doors to the public by late January 2020.
Caratatchea says this road has been tougher than anticipated.
“When we started the remodeling, we thought it was going to be something easy but we ended up redoing the whole building. It’s going to be all replaced,” Caratachea said. “We thought it was going to be easy, but we’re going to make it right. We’re going to make the kitchen bigger, new tiles on the walls and floors, and we’re going to redo the restrooms. I think it’s going to look pretty nice.”
The menu will be the same as the Lafayette and Whitehouse locations.
