The Putnam County Election Commission has approved nearly 200 workers for the March 3, 2020 primaries.
Election Administrator Debbie Steidl said nine of the county’s 22 precincts will have two special-judges working that day.
“So that there won’t be that down time of those folks if they have special problems or anything,” Steidl said. “Because that did tend to happen at the last presidential preference primary and the numbers are high for people showing up.”
Precincts with two special judges include, Upperman, Bangham, Double Springs, Prescott South, Capshaw, Northeast, Cane Creek, Algood Outside, and Burgess Falls.
The commission approved 172 workers for the upcoming election. Steidl said many of those people have never worked an election before.
“We have several new folks,” Steidl said. “Some that don’t have any history of voting in the primaries.”
Candidates have until Thursday at noon to qualify for the primary election.
