Homeless Man Charged With Statutory Rape

A homeless man has landed behind bars for allegedly having sexual relations with a runaway juvenile.

Putnam County authorities charged 20-year-old Michael Andrew Tracy with Statutory Rape Wednesday. He remains behind bars on $100,000 bond.

Tracy allegedly admitted to having sexual relations with the 15-year-old at the Cookeville library a week ago. An arrest warrant stated that Tracy met the girl on Facebook and that he knew police had listed her as a runway. The report said the two stayed together at the Super 8 on Jefferson Avenue.

Investigators said the juvenile admitted to having sexual relations with the defendant 15-times at various areas around the city.

Tracy has a court date scheduled for December 9.
