Sparta Aggravated Arson Case Continued To July 23

A Cookeville man facing multiple counts of aggravated arson in White County will reappear in court July 23.

27-year-old Richard Hunger appeared before a judge at the White County Justice Center Tuesday where his case was continued.

The White County Sheriff’s Office arrested Hunger after investigating a house fire on June 17 along Country Club Road. Hunger was taken into custody that evening and admitted to investigators that he started the fire.

Arrest warrants indicated that at least five other people were inside the residence when Hunger started the fire.

The July 23 court hearing will begin at 9 a.m. at the White County Justice Center.
