The Putnam County Road Department reopened the 3600 block of Shipley Road Monday.
Road Supervisor Randy Jones said Saturday evening flooding washed out the shoulder of the roadway.
“Right now we are building the shoulder back out,” Jones said. “Probably in the next couple of hours we will have this back to where we can open the road back up and turn traffic back through it. it’s just a short section that it affects.”
Heavy downpours affected at least 10 roads across Putnam County Saturday. Shipley was one of several roads to wash out in the northern part of the county.
Jones said road department crews spent all day Sunday making repairs to the roadways.
“We got most all those opened up yesterday,” Jones said. “We had Issacs Pass, Dyer Long, Cumby, Clemmons, Elmore Town, Shipley, and there was several driveways that washed out in Shady Grove.”
Two roads remain closed in Baxter, including Celeste Drive and First Avenue North from Main to Peach Street.
