The Tennessee Comptroller’s Office has unveiled a new web portal to make property tax relief easier for disabled or elderly residents.
In a press release, officials said the new web portal displays key data, interactive maps, and local city and county contracts for those interested in Tennessee’s Tax Relief program.
According to the portal, disabled, elderly, and/or veteran residents across the Upper Cumberland received a total of $1.67 million in property tax relief during the 2018 tax year.
The average age of Upper Cumberland residents who received assistance was approximately 74 years old.
Residents interested in applying for Tennesse’s Tax Relief program can contact their local county trustee or city collecting official to apply.
