Woman Charged After Low-Speed Pursuit Tuesday

A woman faces charges after leading Cookeville Police on a low-speed pursuit Tuesday morning.

Captain Bobby Anderson said officers arrested Sara Jane Pemberton for evading arrest and other active warrants.

According to a statement from the Cookeville Police Department, Pemberton was acting strangely in the 500 block of North Jefferson Avenue. She allegedly drove away when officers arrived on scene.

Anderson said the low speed pursuit ended when officers boxed in Pemberton’s vehicle at 10th Street and Old Kentucky Road.
