A McMinnville man was shot Tuesday night as police search for a suspect.
The McMinnville Police Department reports the shooting occurred as the victim was driving through a residential area near Duck Hawk Drive.
According to a press release, 35-year-old Lafredderick Eddings and his female passenger were chased by another vehicle through when the unidentified suspect opened fire.
The report states at least four shots were fired at the vehicle with one striking Eddings. Eddings’ vehicle then struck a porch along the roadway before he and the passenger ran behind a residence for safety.
Eddings sustained non-life-threatening injuries and has been released from River Park Hospital.
A motive behind the shooting remains unknown at this time. According to the release, authorities are following-up on leads from the scene and information from the public on persons of interest.
