Tennessee Tech University has selected Marc Burnett to fill its new chief diversity officer position.
According to a press release, the chief diversity officer will be tasked with creating and encouraging diversity-related initiatives on Tennessee Tech’s campus.
Burnett previously served as the university’s lead administrator within its Division of Student Affairs.
However, Burnett will not serve in the position long as he will retire from Tennessee Tech later this December after nearly 40 years.
In the release, President Phil Oldham said Burnett will help establish the position and set the standard for the next chief diversity officer to be named at a later time.
