New Tennessee Tech Office Addresses Campus Parking

Tennessee Tech will soon open a new office to address parking on campus.

President Phil Oldham said the new parking and transportation office will help address the needs of both students and faculty.

“Whether it’s to update their parking decal, find out about parking for a special event, whether it’s handicap parking or whatever it may be,” Oldham said, “if they have any issue, any questions, any concerns or suggestions on how we can improve parking services on campus, that’s the place that we’ll take that information and help those individuals.”

Oldham made the announcement during the university’s Board of Trustees meeting Thursday. He said the office will work to help resolve any problems that arise relating to parking on campus.

“They’ll be able to collect the information, focus on whatever the issues are,” Oldham said, “separate the level of priority of those concerns or issues, and make sure we’re paying attention to the things that are going to make the biggest difference.”

The new office will come at no cost to the university as current staff members will be reassigned. The office officially opens July 1 and will be located in the Roaden University Center.
