Trudy Harper Selected As New TTU Trustee Chair

Tennessee Tech’s Board of Trustees has selected Trudy Harper as its next chairperson.

Current chair Tom Jones said he has high hopes for the board under Harper’s lead.

“I think she’ll be outstanding,” Jones said. “I’ve actually known Trudy many, many years. We’ve worked together and served together as co-chairs of the Industrial Advisory Board for the ECD department years  ago. She’ll be excellent, I have no doubt about it.”

The board made the unanimous selection during Thursday’s Trustees meeting.

Harper has served on the Board of Trustees since its creation in 2017 with her term expiring in 2022. Jones will remain on the board through the completion of his term in 2022.

Harper is the founder and former president of Tenaska Power Services Company.
