Six Injured In Fentress County Crash Thursday Night

Six people were injured during a two-car collision in Fentress County Thursday night.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports the incident occurred on Highway 127.

A crash report states 73-year-old Farley Sam Hinds, of Jamestown, was traveling north in the southbound lane. Hinds’s 1997 Buick Skylark collided head-on with the 2005 Pontiac Montana driven by 46-year-old Thomas Pendleton of Monticello, Kentucky.

Hinds’s car came to a rest in the southbound lane facing north while Pendleton’s car stopped in the northbound lane facing west. 25-year-old Amanda Pendleton, Jamestown, along with three children under the age of five years old, also suffered injuries.

The THP reports some of the injured were transported from the scene, while others were flown to UT Medical Center in Knoxville for treatment.

Both Pendletons and all three children were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision while Hinds was not. Charges are currently pending against Hinds.
