A Cookeville man faces drug charges following an arrest made in Algood Wednesday.
Algood Police arrested 35-year-old Jason Franklin at the Speedway gas station after finding over a gram of methamphetamine on his person.
Arrest warrants state the arresting officer recognized Franklin and noticed him preparing to drive away despite not having a license.
The officer searched Franklin and found the meth in his wallet. The search also revealed over 100 plastic baggies and digital scales with residue.
Franklin was arrested and transported to the Putnam County Justice Center, where authorities found hydrocodone – a controlled substance – in his pocket.
Franklin remains at the Putnam County Jail under $37,000 bond for possession of meth and bringing contraband into a penal institution. His first court date is scheduled for June 17.
