Crossville Motorcyclist Injured In I-40 Crash

A Crossville man suffered injuries when his motorcycle crashed into a van Monday morning.

The accident happened at the 287 mile marker of Interstate 40 in Cookeville.

A Tennessee Highway Patrol crash report said James William Brigham was traveling east when the front wheel of his 2009 Harley Davidson collided with a 2016 Nissan, driven by Jared Lee Bandy of Baxter.

The report said the crash happened when Bandy merged into the left lane to avoid a collision with another vehicle. Brigham was unable to slow down before his bike made contact with Bandy’s van and slid into the median.

Brigham received treatment at Cookeville Regional Medical Center and Bandy did not suffer any injuries.

The report indicates that Brigham was charged for improper helmet.
