The future owners of Infinite Entertainment hope to begin grading work within the next couple months.
President Raj Patel said architects are finalizing the facility’s layout and just received grading permits in March.
“We got our civil plans and our grading plan approved by the city and we’re all good in regards to the civil side,” Patel said. “As soon as we have more information in regards to [getting] our building package together, we’ll be ready to start our grading work.”
The facility was originally slated to open this spring, but delays have forced work back to later this summer at the earliest.
Patel said the plan for him and his business partners have always been to bring more entertainment options to Cookeville.
“In Cookeville, if anyone wanted to do anything we had to go to Nashville, Knoxville, or Chattanooga to get any sort of entertainment,” Patel said. “We thought rather than taking our businesses outside of the city, we wanted to do something inside of the city that we can offer to our community and have some fun, rather than traveling 80 miles to get any sort of entertainment.”
Infinite Entertainment will feature six main areas including a full-service restaurant, bowling alleys, bumper cars, an arcade, laser tag, and a soft play area for small children.
Patel estimates that, if no further building delays occur, the facility will be constructed and ready to open in early 2020. The facility will be located at the corner of Veterans Drive and South Walnut Avenue neighboring the Shoppes at Eagle Point.
